covering my body with his.

His mouth is inches from mine again and I notice he’s wearing another one of those snap button shirts. I reach up and run my hands under his shirt feeling a very chiseled chest. I think I’ve just gone to heaven. He moans leaning in to kiss me fiercely. Here I was worried about my heart healing because of Brad. Now I’m in the arms of a man I barely know, and I feel more and more like myself again. I’m glad she wasn’t too lost, I’ve missed this feeling.

I’m snapped back to reality when ’Dark Horse’ by Katy Perry plays over my phone. Geez, Amber couldn’t wait until tomorrow? I sigh giving him a sorry smile as I explain it’s Amber. I lean up reaching in my pocket to pull the phone out.

    “What’s going on Amber?”

“Well don’t you sound flustered. Were you having sex missy?” I’m shocked by her accusation. I laugh to keep Wesley from wondering what she said.

    “No, so what’s going on?”

“I haven’t heard from you yet so I wanted to check on you and make sure you got there safe. Oh, I’m getting ready to go on my date; I wanted to tell you Brad showed up again. He had a present for you. I told him go to hell and slammed the door in his face.” He’s not going to stop. A present? He shouldn’t even bother; I would have just thrown it back in his face. I don’t want anything from him.

“Shit, well have fun ok? Thanks for telling me and yes I made it ok.” I hate having to sugarcoat everything but I truly believe it’s for the best.

“Later hooker. Make sure he wears a condom!” And she hung up. My face is beet red, what the hell was she thinking saying that? Oh that’s right, she doesn’t care!

“Everything ok?” Wesley asks with a half smile. It’s a relief to see he actually wasn’t pouting or mad over me answering her phone call. That just proves to me how different he is. Different is good and with him it’s everything I long for.

“Of course.” Besides the fact that my ex fiancé is trying to bring me presents.

“Well, I have plans to take you to dinner if you’d like, since I’m a free man.”

Dinner isn’t that great of a gesture, I mean people have to eat but something about him doing this makes my heart flutter. I feel wanted and that’s the best feeling I could have. I smile grabbing my bag and pulling out the black-striped maxi dress Amber insisted I pack. It is perfect because I can wear flip flops with it and still look nice. The pedicure I treated myself to was definitely a bonus. I flash Wesley a smile as I run into the bathroom and begin to change. I smile confidently in the mirror thankful for the changes that have taken place in the last week. I love my smile, it seems like it’s been forever since I’ve smiled and truly meant it. My stomach turns thinking about the night, I’m elated. The butterflies I have tell me coming here was a good decision. I touch up my eyeliner and add some shimmery lip gloss to finalize the look. I smile one more time at the final product and give myself a wink to boost my confidence. I open the door to find Wesley standing by the vanity mirror holding a single pink daisy dressed in a light green button up shirt, those delicious tight Wranglers and a less scuffed up pair of boots. He looks amazingly sexy, I could eat him up. His green eyes are shining like bright emeralds and his brown hair is a little disheveled but gorgeous. I have to stop and catch my breath before I make my way to him.

“For you beautiful,” he smiles as he hands me the pink daisy. I blush as our hands intertwine for a brief moment.

I bring the daisy to my nose and briefly smell it before laying it on the vanity. Boldly, I lean up on my tiptoes to plant a soft kiss on his lips. “I still don’t think you’re real,” I whisper.

“Why do you think that?” he whispers against my ear sending chills down my spine.

“I’m just not used to all
