was perfect—and by God, if he had anything to do with it, they’d never wake up from this incredible fantasy.

FIVE
S ara looked so beautiful and peaceful that Mitch hated to disturb her, but he didn’t want her to open her eyes and think he’d run out on her either. Last night, after she’d fulfilled his fantasy, they had both fallen into an exhausted slumber, and he hadn’t roused until his cell phone rang and work beckoned.
As he drifted off last evening, with her tucked securely in his arms, he’d reflected on the emotions she brought out in him. Mitch had had every intention of grabbing a short nap and then telling her exactly how he felt, praying she reciprocated his feelings. For the first time in his life, he felt that a woman had fallen for the man beneath the uniform. Now he was ready to lay it on the line to find out for sure.
    “Sara, I have to go.”
She blinked up at him. When her eyes focused, a wide smile split her mouth and it brought warmth to his darkest corners. She glanced at his body, then down at her own. Her hand snaked out and cradled his cheek. “Hey, you’re overdressed.”
He closed his hand over hers and said around the lump forming in his throat, “Hey, babe, I have to go. I’m needed at the station.”
She propped herself up and glanced around. “What time is it?”
“It’s early. Why don’t you go back to sleep and I’ll come find you after my shift?”
“Now that sounds like a great plan to me.”
Mitch dropped a kiss on her cheek and crept from the pool house. With morning fast approaching, he had to check in, which gave him little time to get home, shower, and get to work.
Over an hour later, Mitch made his way to the firehouse. All was quiet, which suited him just fine. Not only did he need time to sort through his thoughts, but he needed to figure out a way to talk to Nick, especially after Nick had warned him to stay away from Sara.
    Sara…
He couldn’t get her out of his head. She’d taken up residency in his heart and unearthed things in him he thought he’d buried. No woman had ever considered his needs and desires before. The fact that she wanted to fulfill his fantasy, and had gone and purchased all the sexy props to do it, filled his heart with love.
And if Mitch got his way, which he had every intention of doing, the two of them would have many more nights in each other’s arms fulfilling fantasies.
Right now he needed to compose himself and get his mind on the job. But first he allowed himself one more minute to think about Sara. Reveling in the heated memories of the way she felt in his arms, and the way she opened her body to him. He licked his lips, recalling the taste of her mouth, her breasts, and the valley between her legs. His whole body quaked with the need to sink into her again and again. His cock tightened in anticipation; pleasure resonated through him. He couldn’t wait to hold her again, to reacquaint his lips with her body.
He glanced at the clock. Damn, it was going to be a hell of a long day.
Hours later, after a grueling afternoon, Mitch had finally finished for the day and set out in search of Sara. Without preamble, he made his way to Nick’s house and hurried up the walkway. His heart leapt when Sara opened the door before he had a chance to knock, as though she’d been waiting for him.
Dressed in a gray jogging suit, a notepad in hand, she looked absolutely gorgeous. Of course it didn’t matter what she wore—she’d always be beautiful to him.
Her eyes brightened when they locked on his. Her hand went to her hair to tame a few wayward curls. “Hi.”
Mitch stepped in and closed the door behind him. He crushed her body to his and anchored them hip to hip. Sara shivered in his arms. His heart skipped. Damn he loved the way she reacted to his touch. “Where is everyone?”
    “Running errands.”
    “Are we alone?”
    She nodded.
“Good, we need to talk.” Without giving her time to speak, he grabbed her hand
